Intuition

INTUITION

I spent years breathing
in search of you
exploring the darkest corners of your
truth

They who broke me
no longer have a pull
I trust you now like the tide trusts the moon

They offered their clocks and Their tools
but
you filled the pool with warm
waters breaking ours
by the light of fire
the sounds of the Natives
sang
as I birthed

I trust you
like a child
trusts

when They give me rubber soles
I roam barefoot over rocks
through dirt
with the flow of the river

I plunge in the cold
even though it hurts

I sleep in the black of blacks
even though I am blind

I let go
even though I am scared

I trust you like a leaf to the sun
I soak in your bites to take me back
darkening to my roots

when they give me medicine
I choose you instead
I slather, I soak, I breath, I devour
I eat the weeds of you

when I am lost
I listen for your faint whispers of stifled pain, of loss

in the darkest corners of your truth
you comfort me
